Need a safe place for your child to be in the afternoons? Express It Arts now offers an easy, safe and affordable after school program with bus drop-off right at Express It Arts studio, available from Memorial, Nottingham, H.O. Smith and Library only, starting at 2:30, ending at 6:00. If you’d like to come in earlier, contact me and I’ll arrange it!

What We Offer

COMMUNITY: Your child and their friends will have fun when they spend their afternoons together at Express It Art. Our studio will spur their creativity, and give them an outlet to express themselves.

AFFORDABILITY: Just $35 for 2 hours, daily, add $6 more for each 1/2 hour after 2 hours, if you are paying by the day. OR

Kids can stay until 6:00 pm before late fees are added. *Late fees below.

Makeup Policy: If you miss your class for any reason, you can do a makeup within a week. If you haven’t made it up within 7 days, you forfeit the class fee.

ACTIVITIES: Students can choose between a variety of activities such as drawing, painting, mosaics or sculpture using air dry clay or paper mache or jewelry making. And now, I offer beginner sewing classes for 8 and up. If they show they could manage the sewing machine, they can use that too. They will be allowed to explore any medium of their choice for their art projects.

Please note: Certain projects may require an extra materials fee (roughly $10-mosaics or jewelry making and sewing), but I will provide you with a list of some basic supplies to purchase; pencils, eraser, watercolor paper, paint and air-dry clay. These can be labelled and left at the studio in a locker for your child to use. I supply all supplies for the first couple classes. If they become a regular, I will send you a list of supplies needed to bring in or leave here.

SNACKS: Poland water or juice, and basic snacks are included. I also have a small refrigerator if needed.

WIFI: I have internet/Wifi they can connect to. It is restricted and child-safe.

Safety First

Your child will receive door-to-door service. Bus drivers will stop at the Express It Art driveway (students will present their bus driver with printed out bus form, below), where we’ll meet your child and walk them to the studio. They will be supervised until you pick them up at 6pm.

Children will not be allowed to leave the building, unless there is a previously arranged group activity. We have a very safe yard that is set back from the road and I have other adults on the premises if ever needed.

Masks are now optional, but are required to put one on if they have the sniffles, any coughing or sneezing. But Please do not bring them in if they have any cold symptoms! it is not fair to get me and other kids sick. I do reserve the right to send them home if they have symptoms of a cold.

Safety First from the Bus and Dismissal Policy

Kids getting off the bus to attend Express It Art, will be escorted by myself or a qualified assistant and will walk them to the main building.

When their registered driver arrives to pick up, to be allowed in, Id’s will be checked. *Anyone not on your registration list needs to be verbally approved via text to my phone, 603-438-7885 before picking up. A call will be made to parents if we are in question about the driver to approve them.

Kids are not allowed outside unless we are doing a project which requires it. This will be supervised. Otherwise, students should not leave the building.

Occasionally, we do projects that work with wood, they may cut out wood on our jigsaw, they will be spotted and wearing protective glasses. Or they may sand with a palm sander. This will be age based projects and they will need to prove they are responsible before being awarded this permission.
